Guess what I have for you a little earlier than normal? A quick overview of the August 2016 LEGO Monthly Mini Build apple & build instructions! This just kinda happened unexpectedly…
Last week was my birthday and since I was working on my actual birthday, we decided to run to the LEGO store the following day. I was planning on being off that day anyways, since the little brick started Kindergarten later that week. The day I was off was the day of her Kindergarten Bus Ride. Couldn’t miss the bus ride to school with my little big girl!
After the bus ride, we took a trip to the LEGO store to pick up some of my birthday presents. When we got there, we realized it was one of the LEGO monthly mini build days. There were kids building all around the store.
The girl, of course, asked if she could build, but I told her since she wasn’t old enough yet, I couldn’t register her for the event. She’d have to wait until we registered her for the LEGO Club Meeting.
Unbeknownst to us, the store manager was listening in on our conversation. I shouldn’t call it listening in… makes it sound like he was being intrusive. The girl only has two volume levels… and this time it was loud.
He quietly mentioned to me he had some no shows earlier in the day and if she wanted to build, he had a spot for her. (Thank you so much!)
Of course, the girl was ecstatic when she heard the news and jumped right at the opportunity to build.
I’m glad she did, too, because this guy is about as adorable as the mini builds can get.
The worm part of the build was actually a little tricky. While they do a good job to illustrate how to place the lime green plate in its spot, not all kids notice the subtle instruction. I found the LEGO employee who was monitoring the kids repeatedly mentioning how to place that plate in its spot. If it’s placed incorrectly, it stops you from continuing the build a few steps further on.
