So, I’ve been a bit obsessed since I saw the LEGO Cinderella Glass Slipper video on the LEGO Facebook feed a few weeks ago. I, like many other people, went straight to the web to see if there were instructions on how to make the shoe. Sadly, there are none.

I made the mistake of watching the video while The Little Brick was looking over my shoulder. All I heard for days were shrieks of “I would *love* Cinderella’s slipper in LEGO” and “I can’t *wait* to make one so I can slip my foot in it!” (Let’s let that last one slide folks… she’s 4…)

Failing to find instructions, I set the thought aside for a while…until I had a conversation with a LEGO employee on making circles with bricks. While he watched the video, I happened to mention I wanted to try and build the slipper myself. Once he was done, he quickly went to the back and brought me a small PAC cup full of 1×1 transparent round plates.

My eyes grew wide, of course, since I had just seen a cubby full of 1×2 transparent plates on the PAC wall. I immediately moved the round plates to a large PAC cup and filled the rest of it with the 1×2 plates.

Honestly, I was a bit intimidated by the whole build. I’ve never really built anything like that without instructions. With only two other shoes to go by, I wasn’t sure I could do it. So, the PAC cup stayed on our kitchen table for the following week.

Finally, I decided to start building. I went through many iterations and different styles and sides for the shoe. It took me a few rebuilds to get the shoe to the point where I like it. It still has a weak point which I’m not happy about, but I’m much happier now with it than my original iteration. I’d also change the heel seat and the 1×2 slope brick I used for the heel tip, but until I find the right bricks, I’m going with this.
