My mind is on winter right now since we’re working on our winter village display. So when I saw this LEGO Ideas mock for a Winter Farm by Sandro Damiano, I fell in love!
Just look at this building. The combination of brown and reddish brown bricks gives the farm an “old” feel full of history. This farm has a story to tell!
All those cheese slopes on the front roof area draw my eye. It’s already given me ideas for other MOCs. (Spanish roof tiles, anyone?)
The wedge plates are a fantastic idea for sculpting snow on the roof. I may replace some of the plates on our stock Winter Village pieces as I like the look of these better.
I read on one of the Flickr photos the hay in the upper part of the farm has a hidden button for a light brick to brighten up the bottom portion of the barn. Pretty neat!
I love the “dirt” on the barn floor. It’s a nice touch.
This cheese room is a fun playable feature and adds a pop of color to the interior of the farm. Not that there would be lots of playing going on with our winter village setup… This is the only LEGO setup we don’t play with…
Oh! And a chicken coop is a must, of course.
Did i mention the tile work on the facade of the barn is just fantastic? It really is.
You can see more photos of the LEGO Ideas Winter Farm in Sandro’s gallery on Flickr. And you should go support him today!
Do you like this MOC? Would you add it to your village?
