Last week I mentioned there was a traveling LEGO truck in North Atlanta. We found out last minute because one of our friends at the LEGO store was kind enough to share the information with us. And as soon as we heard we shared it with you guys, too.
I had planned to go earlier in the week, but with work, traffic and distance, Mr. Family Brick decided it would be best to go when I didn’t have to worry about any of those things. That meant we went to the very last event time, which was Friday afternoon at 5pm.
Apparently, we weren’t the only ones that had the same plan, as you can see from the photo above.
Unfortunately, it was also a rainy day. I didn’t plan very well, as we left the house without an umbrella, so many of my photos aren’t the best quality. Was fighting rain droplets with my cell phone. :/
The line above looks longer than it really was. Despite the length, it only took us 20 minutes from start to finish.
As we got closer to the truck, we noticed the team had placed social distancing markers on the ground. There was also a sign reminding us to social distance.
On the other side of the line was another sign explaining the event as follows:
Give the gift of play.
Choose a mini build and you’ll receive two; on to build and one to share with a friend.
Choose one mini build per person:
- Apple with Worm
- Bunny
- Panda
- Koi Fish
- Dragon
- Wolf
- Eagle
- UFO
- Race Car
As you get closer to the truck, you get a closer look at the builds offered. With the rain, though, the window was a bit fogged, so they weren’t very clear.
Once we reached the back of the truck, a LEGO employee asked us which build we wanted to receive. He also asked us which build we wanted to give. The Little Brick picked out two Panda builds so that she and her friend could build them together.
The employ also asked me what builds I wanted. Made me super happy… I spent my whole time in line trying to convince The Little Brick to get the Koi Fish build for me… and of course, she said no. lol
But I did get the Koi Fish after all… and I picked up the Dragon for Mr. Family Brick.
You may recognize the packaging. It’s the same packaging from the retired LEGO monthly mini build events. So there’s no packaging art, but you can see the build itself on the instructions.
