Do you remember seeing the LEGO Minecraft Tree in one of my photos a few weeks back when I wrote about The Little Brick’s first LEGO Club Meeting? Secretly infatuated with the chunky build and wanting to study it more, I held it for a few minutes, but as The Little Brick required assistance, I put it down and moved on. I then got sidetracked by my desire to build the Cinderella slipper and never followed up with it. I simply left the store and forgot about it.
As it turns out, everyone in my family gets the opportunity to view the LEGO Club magazines long before I do. I tend to glance at them right before I’m forced to clean and put them in the recycling bin. So you can imagine my excitement when I found the build for the LEGO Minecraft tree in the January/February 2015 edition of the LEGO Club magazine! I immediately earmarked the build for later.
Realizing I didn’t have exactly the right bricks for the build, I went ahead and substituted with what I did have and got to building. You’ll have to excuse the white peeking out from the center…
Overall, I like this quick build, but it’s not quite as substantial as the other one I saw at the store. I would still love to get a look at that other one, but the employee who made it already took it home… and no one seems to know who brought it in. Oh well…
If you don’t have a munchkin who gets the LEGO Club magazine, you can download the above build instructions for the LEGO Minecraft tree here. If you’re interested in signing up, you can join the LEGO Club Magazine here. LEGO also has a LEGO Club Junior for LEGO builders age 6 and under that gets well used around this house. So there is definitely something for older and younger kids… I highly recommend the magazines!
Does your little brick get the magazine(s)? What do you like most about them?
